Anyone ever see a replacement pickguard for one of these? Instead of having a cutout for a p-bass pickup, it has a cutout for a J (and it's a 5 string.) I'm wanting to replace the white plastic one with a gold anodized aluminum one (like the '57s,) provided it doesn't cost me a fortune.
I've seen some custom places online, but I'm always open for suggestions. Two of my bro-in-laws are machinists, and I've been thinking of approaching them with the idea. I just like the "one-off" look that makes folks do a double-take.
