Gold Hardware and Hardware Recommendation

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a MIA Fender and would like to replace all the chrome hardware with gold hardware. What hardwares do you recommend? I was thinking Hipshot Ultralites with a D-Tuner for tuners. I don't know where to get a gold control plate. I was going to get a BadAss III bridge, but they aren't made in Gold, only Chrome. Do you think it is worth it to replace it with gold, or should I just stick to the chrome hardware and replace only the parts I want to (tuners, MAYBE bridge). I kind of like the stock bridge, but am willing to try a direct fit replacement.

Aren't some of the custom Fenders made with gold hardware? Might try Custom Shop. Even at that, you might be out of luck with the gold D-Tuner.

Personally, I wouldn't mix and match, but that's just me.

And don't forget, over the long term, gold tends to wear off, fade, and get ugly. Just sold a Cirrus that had three pretty gold tuners and two ugly almost-gold tuners.

I wasn't going to mix and match. I think I'll just stick to chrome.

How does the Badass III change the tone compared to the stock MIA bridge? Is it a major improvement in features (if so, what)?
