Good aftermarket tuners

Hey all, I recently purchased a MIJ Mustang Re-issue and it's amazing in all aspects except that the tuners are mediocre. I need some tuners on par or better than a MIA (I like the tuners on my MIA p-bass) and my maximum budget is $60, any advice?

PS the tuners seem to be your standard sized MIM/MIJ pieces with the screw holes slightly in because of the rounded edge.

What exactly is wrong with the tuners? I got some replacement tuners made by Mighty-Mite a couple years ago and they were very high quality for very little cashola! Recommended.

They aren't smooth at all and they just feel like crap, maybe I'll try taking them apart and cleaning them and putting graphite in them, but it just doesn't seem like it will help.

Hmm. Hipshots are going to cost a lot more than $60 for a set of four. Are you talking about $60 total or $60 per tuner?

If it's 60$ altogether limit, you could go with Schaller BMLs from Warmoth. http://www.warmoth.com/hardware/tune...on=bass_tuners
