Well, I finally got around to making my POS 4-on-the-floor P/J more playable. Not quite the lowest action in the world (my SX 5 is a full 2/16ths lower), but it works nicely. Unfortunately, the only way to make it lower is to change the angle of the neck. I managed to straighten it out a little, but its still not quite straight level with the body. If you get what I mean....

The other thing I did was raise the pups. Quite a bit. Its still not quite the output of my SX, but it does sound a lot better. The other thing I randomly discovered is that there is a volume boost (yay!) when I run both the P and J. My one complaint with my SX has been the volume drop when I run both pups.

Right now I have it tuned ADGC, but im thinking of getting new strings and tuning her DGCF. Then I'd have a 5 and a "proper"-ish 4 banger too. Whady'allthink?

I think 2/16"=1/8".
Also, if you put a business card-thickness piece of cardboard in the rear end of the neck pocket it will slightly increase the neck angle, vice-versa I suppose to decrease it. i fixed my 96 Jazz 5's non-intonating B string this way.
And it is a good day, Daniel.

Hehe, I totally measured with a rule that was just ticks of 16ths

I dont know about doing the card thing cus I'd prolly have to take the neck right off for it to work.... but it is something to consider I suppose.

Yeah, I guess I wasn't too clear- the neck has to come off for the card trick. It's not that difficult, but I wouldn't do it if I weren't sure I knew what I was doing(I've seen it done by a very good luthier).
