Good place in London for a setup?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello folks,

For some time now my P-bass has been dormant in a cupboard - terrible, I know, but since moving to London I haven't been able to find a band so I've not had much reason to use it.

I'm getting back into playing now, so I'd like to give it a little servicing. I'm well out of practise so I'd rather pay someone else to arse about with new strings and alan keys.

Does anyone know a decent place in London - ideally West or central - where I could get this done? And how much am I looking at paying?

Cheers fellas.

Try "The Gallery" in Camden. I don't know how busy they are these days building Sei basses, but they always used to be able to find time to fettle my basses.

I've setup my own basses for years now, so I'd only need to use professional help for more serious work like a refret or fret levelling (or obviously any damage that was more than cosmetic). But you might want to try doing it yourself, there is plenty of information in the stickies on this site and it's really not that hard...anybody who can hold an allen key and knows clockwise from anti-clockwise should be able to manage a basic setup even it it might not have quite the finesse of a pro job

Cheers fella, I'll give them a bash. I'm generally quite disaster-prone with anything DIY so I'm probably safer leaving it up to a professional. Nice one.
