Question Good place in NYC to get work done on a bass?

Sign in to disble this ad
I just recently installed a Badass II on my MIM Fender P and I'd like to have the saddles filed/intonation set up. I've never taken my bass to a tech before so I have no idea what to expect or where to go. I was thinking of trying one of the 48th street shops like Manny's or Rudy's. I'd actually be willing to go to Guitar Center but I have no idea if they're any good. Also, what should I expect this to cost and should I bring the set of the strings I normally use to get the best results in setting up the bridge?

I know a guy who does all the work on my basses down in the lower east in Manhattan, Richies Guitar Shop. He does great work and has lot's of basses he's put together in his shop.

Shoot me a PM and I'll give you his contact info and we could possibly meet up so I could take you there since it's kind of hard to find. He works out of his house, by appointment and doesn't have a website.
