Good Setup place in Southwest RI/Southeast CT

I live right on the RI CT border in Westerly, and I was looking into getting a setup on my bass, but I have a unique set of time constraints. There are two places I know of off the top of my head.

There's "Frets" in Westerly, and the tech there, Zach, is a genius when in comes to setups, but they're currently moving the store down the street and are booked thru the month.

The 2nd place I know of is Caruso Music, over in New London. I'm actually good friends with the owners daughter (how I know about the shop), but I've never actually been there. New London is also quite a drive from where I live. Anyone know any other spots in the area that will give me a quick, quality setup?

I've never had them do a set up but I've had good luck at a store in Mystic called Alpha Audio Works. I've been treated very well there.

If they don't do setups themselves, I'd ask them what they recommend.

They will recommend The Guitar mechanic in New London. Ken Nash has done work for me for years and does a good job.

Stew Dude,

Noll Guitars. (in Warwick I think?) They are absolutely the best and most experienced around. I live on the Cape in Mass, and I make this ride (about an hour?) when I need someone good... absolutely worth the ride (and beleive me, there are many other choices a lot closer).

Quick? I don't know... good luck, all the good guys stay pretty busy.

My best advice is to try to try to do yourself what you can, in time for your gig, etc. What's your main problem, maybe the guys here can help?

Yup.....Noll Guitars is the place. Turnaround time rarely runs more than one week and usually within four or five days.

Stan, Jim and Steve are good people.....

Whenever there's some sort of setup/fingerboard planing job that's beyond my capabilities, I go to Ken Nash. Caruso Music may him as their repair guy now from what I've heard- he's a half block from them. Plus, there's an awesome Indian food restaurant right there
