I know everyone knows what they look like, but I took photos anyway. This is the BT4 model for USA Fenders, 1990's up to 2007 models (mine's a 2006). As long as your tuners look like these and have two locator pins on the underside of the baseplate, the BT4 is the one for your American Standard and/or American Series Fender. Hipshot's website is not exactly clear on that (they say 1990's Fender).
It was a cinch to install, and no drilling or alterations required for the BT4. Probably 20 minutes to install and dial in. So far, it works like a charm.

Remember to grease the contact point at the throw arm and stop-plate, and you'll be in like Flynn!

And I've been with vocalists lately who like to sing in Eb, Ab, Bb, B natural, etc. A five is the way to go on some of those songs, too.

I rubbed mine with a graphite pencil - didn't have any nut sauce and I'm not sure that I'm interested in all the mess. I'm trying to find a Graphtech Black Tusq nut in the proper size/string spacing so that I don't have to worry about it.

Better than nothing. I'm going to try that.

I want to install two extenders for both the B and E strings, and you can't install the regular ones next to each other

I use powdered graphite to lube the nut. You can get it at real hardware stores (the problem is finding one of THOSE now!). It's sold for lubricating locks. A tube of it has lasted me about 20 years so far. I use a bit of the graphite evertime I retring a Hipshot equpped bass (that's four of my six 4-string basses) and everytime I restring the Stratocaster.

I have found it really good to play in the key of d, which I feel was the one low note a four string was missing. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
