Gotoh 201 buzzing

When I play any notes on my E string, I hear a buzzing coming from the bridge. It sounds like the spring is vibrating against the string, causing a buzzing sound. Is there I can do to aleviate this?

bump, this is the reason I replaced the old bridge, and now it's the same problem. It happens on all the strings, but is only audible when amplified on the E string. Acoustically, it is very bad on the E.

Does it happen on fretted as well as open notes?

Sounds like the spring is loose, i.e. the space it sits in is too long. Try intonating the bass.

Either that, or stick a piece of duct tape on it

I did intonate the bass, is it possible for the spring to still be loose?

My Jazz did that with the original bridge. While it's vibrating feel the heads of the intonation screws to see if they're moving. I had to remove those screws and carefully stretch the springs to stop the problem on mine.
