Gotoh GB7 washers

Sign in to disble this ad
I have an older MTD Kingston bass (circa 2002) and on one of the tuners the white plastic washer came off. The tuners are Gotoh GB7 (or a copy of them). I e-mailed a couple of different addresses at MTD but I didn't get any responses.

Anybody know where I can get a replacement washer? Should I just take one of the good washers to a hardware store and try to find a match?

I have dealt with this "little parts issue" a great deal. IF there is an ACE hardware store in your area make it your friend. They (usually) have a very large assortment in yellow boxes down an entire isle, of washer, screws, bolts; all sorts of little parts. You will find your washer there. Take an existing one and CLEAR TAPE IT TO A BUSINESS CARD SO YOU WONT LOOSE IT; and get a solid match (buy several). IF you don't have any of those.....look for a SMALL "Mom & Pop" hardware store; they usually have the same company's stock of assorted small nuts & bolts items. IF TOTALLY no luck; PM me.

John, I went to my mom & pop hardware store in my small town (which is also an Ace Hardware) and got some washers. The new ones are a bit thicker than the old ones but they worked out just fine. Taping a set of the old ones to a business card was genius. Thank you very much!
