Question a great looking bass with a really bad issue

i was at my local guitar center and I saw an Epiphone EB-0 bass. I played it for about 10-15 minutes and it has the best sound. But, after two days of having it, something terrible happened; the valve turned sideways. I was so mad that I immediately went to GC. I got an acoustic-electric dean fretted bass and now I'm not really into it...So I want to do is buy it once again and see if that problem happens and if so hopefully fix it myself...

so does anyone know how to fix the valve on a bass?

What are you talking about? Do you mean a volume or tone pot? Or maybe a tuner?

That would be called a jack. The end that sticks out is threaded with a nut to hold it in place. All you have to do is tighten it, unless you lost it. In that case, get another nut.

Ah. It's called the jack. You should be able to get to it through the back cover.
