Ground wires on bridge saddles?

Sign in to disble this ad
I think this will go here. Has anyone ever seen ground wires going to the bridge saddles before? My daughter and i went to the Rock and Roll hall of fame this weekend and they had Michael Anthonys Jack Daniels bass from his VH days on display. I noticed there were a small wires coming out from under the bridge where the normal ground wire is and a wire went to each sadddle (4) so there were 1 wire one going to each saddle. I think these had to be for a ground but i never had seen this before could it be a piezo? I dont really know about those so forgive me if that is what they might be...i was just wondering. It would help ground buzz for sure if each string saddle was grounded.

+1 on the piezos. There is no reason to have separate string grounds to each saddle. In fact, separate ground wires may cause more problems than they would solve.

Ok thanks...i thought they could be but i really dont know anything about piezo only that they are some sort of crystal type pup.The bass was cool and you would of thought the wires would of been hidden better they were quite visible and somewhat sloppy looking.
