Hey all,
I just got my "new" bass delivered today, an MIM Jazz. All is well except that I noticed it hums a bit. At first I thought "yeah that's just the standard jazz hum". But then after a while I realised it had to do with the jack, when I touched the outside metal of the jack it stopped humming and went silent, and when I let go it started again.
So I am assuming there is some kind of solder joint that grounds the bass at the output jack?
Is it just simply re-soldering it? I don't have a soldering iron at the moment but I plan on getting one anyway
