Grounding Problem prehaps?

Sign in to disble this ad
So i have a Rickenbacker 4003 with the Hipshot bridge. What i did for the ground wire is put it in a crimp with a circle in it and put it through the screw. If you're wondering what the crimp looks like, it's like this: =O lol

I hear this wierd popping noise whenever i go over the frets/harmonics of a note. I've had this problem for not too long, havent had it when i put the new bridge on. Just recently~

I tried pushing the ground wire more into the crimp but no luck.

Am i right it's a grounding problem?

Edit: I tried recording a soundclip, no noise.. Hmmmmmm

But when i put it in my amp directly, no pedal board, i hear it again.

what strings are you using?

and...well, maybe rickenbackers are different, I wouldn't know. But I know that my ground wire just touches the bridge, and I'm good.

do you have a hipshot bridge that's PAINTED....that could be a problem.
