i've had the idea of changing the buttons on my new Schaller M4S tuners for the guitar type. When i saw this (on Doug McAlexander page), my courage got stronger. Those Schallers have 4mm square shaft and i'm trying to find guitar buttons that would fit, or at least that i could modify. i know about the less comfort associated with small button, but it's for the studio bass and reason is design, as well as some weight saving.
Those look like Sperzels to me in the pic, why not just purchase a set of them? They are excellent tuners and are very customizable.
I think you would have a hard time finding anything that would fit, short of something that Schaller makes or something that you make yourself.
thanks for the quick reply. recently i've bought five of those Schallers, they were not cheap and are precisely made, i'd like to use them. I checked their tech info and they unfortunately don't make guitar buttons that would fit. So i'm about to change my task - i have to find out how to make o 4mm square hole ...
