On my regular walk through the local GC, spied a used 8 string. Went back to play it last week and the help kid says - "man, everybody tries that thing.... surprised its still here!" at $499 - their standard price for this used 8. Easy enough to play and sounded pretty good, but the upper frets required a lot of effort. Looked down the fret board and saw a ski jump. I've never had a guitar or bass with that kind of problem, so ... how hard is it to fix?
Also, of the 3 knobs, the middle was rocking and not doing anything, and the far knob was sticky. At least one pot needing replacement.
Certainly fixed the GAS quickly.
