Hamer 12 String Dropped D Intonation

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello, I have a 12 string Chaparral and I can't get the intonation right when I tune down to D. Being a big King's X fan, I would like to use this tuning. I am using SIT 12 string bass strings. I am thinking that maybe the .95 gauge E is too light to be dropped tuned. The saddle is all the way to the back and it is still a little sharp. Maybe I will need a heavier gauge? Any suggestions?
