hardshell case repair

Sign in to disble this ad
Anyone out there adept in case repair? I have two hardshell cases, both of which have cracks along the top corner which don't break thru the tolex. One was damaged by the airlines during a flight, I'm not sure how the second got that way. Anyway I bought some Veritas white glue and used an accordion bottle with a syringe end to poke holes thru the tolex in an attempt to fill the crack with glue but that doesn't look like its going to be very successful. It very difficult to get the corner clamped in the correct way to re-enforce that edge. Any ideas? In the end I may end up cutting the tolex, pealing it back, gluing the crack and then gluing the tolex back in place. It won't be pretty but it will hopefully survive a few more flights.
