Harmonic Problem Jazz Bass

Sign in to disble this ad
When I play harmonics on my Jazz at the 7th fret I notice that the E harmonic starts out ok and then drops out for an instant and then rings again. Only happens at that one location. The E sounds great down to the 7th fret when played. Nice and fat and growly. Then it's a bit dull down to the 11th and from the 11th down it just doesn't ring like the other strings. Not toally dead just noticably dull compared to the rest of the strings doen there. I have Chromes on it now. I had a 105 E and it was really dull. I changed to the 100 E set on it now and it's better... but not 100%. Any ideas as to what's going on? Thanks in advance.
