Has anyone refinished a Warwick?

My Warwick SS2 is quite banged up. Started thinking I might sand it down and refinish it. Does anyone have recommendations on what to use?

I had bought a pretty beat up Warwick Corvette STD I forget the year, it was made in Germany though. It had black finish. I sanded the finish off and did a antique kind of look. I used the same kind of method you would use to finish flamed maple.
I used ebony stain I got from Lowes and Tung Oil also from Lowes.

I like the look of that, Oddfeen1. I may have to try that on one of mine.

No. But I want sooooo badly to do this to my fortress. I think it's going to happen this summer.

Sorry Oddfeen, zombie thread... Your Warwick looks amazing and I'd like to do something similar to mine. Can you please go through your process?
