Headstock crack problem?

Sign in to disble this ad
I have recently discovered this thin crack on the headstock. It starts from small tuner screw and cuts through half the thickness of the headstock.

Not a problem at the moment, but if it continue to spread it can ruin perfectly good neck.

Is there any way to avoid spreading the crack?
Glue, oil, something else...

Lets say I found the solution in few older threads.

Now just need an minor explanation...

"glue thinned 10% with distilled water" will be 9 measures of glue and 1 measure of water or the opposite?

Thank you!

Super glue will do it too.

I'm pretty sure they meant to use 9 parts glue to 1 part water. It will thin the glue out enough to give good penetration into the crack.

If it were me, I'd also remove the screw that caused the crack until the glue dried thoroughly.

Thanks guys...

Haven't done much... Not even waterish superglue is thin enough to reach inside the crack.
