Has anyone out there purchased product from the DecalDude? http://www.decaldudeus.co.nr/ Well, The TB Forum and the people on it are freaking awesome.....
Shortly after posting this thread I was contacted by a fellow TB'er who will remain nameless for now.
As a hobby he does vinyl and metal type graphic work which includes decals.....
By the end of the day after emailing him pictures of the original he had made me a reproduction decal and it looks great!
He is mailing three to me free of charge....wouldn't even let me pay postage. It is truly great knowing there are people out
there that willing to help.......Thank you very much !!!

My points are simply:
-the decals offered in the op's link are fraudulent
-it disappoints me that TB takes no stance against propagating such items
I'm in no way commenting on any individual TB-er's personal ethics. Just pointing out the 2 points above.

| | | "The story"
I bought a Ibby from a TB'er that the finished was damaged when he bought by an impact on the bottom strap button so hard that it chipped off a fairly large area of finish and sent three lateral cracks across the back. I got it at a really good price and took on the project of refinishing.....This included a new piece of Mapa Burl veneer on the headstock to match the body. Hence the need for replacement headstock decal....
I contacted Ibanez but have yet to hear any word back from them..... Quote:

I can't comment on Ibanez decal policy, but I do know Fender's (as an example). If you can demonstrate to a Fender authorized dealer that an original Fender instrument needed repairs that necessitate a new decal- they send the dealer a new decal for you. |
