Help/Advice Needed: Replacing Bass Neck

Hi I've recently bought a Fender Jazz Bass (Mexcian)
Its currently a fretted bass, but I want it to be fretless (new neck not conversion).

I was woundering how hard is it to replace a neck am sure its not as simple as unbolt one, take it off and bolt new one on, therse the dreaded truss rod what i have no idea what it does and all the dimentions and mesurments i need to get right ???? please someone help me.
also can you sugest suitble place to buy such a neck from (my budget for neck is £100 (around $180)

a lot of places (all parts, mightymite, warmoth) make fender replacement necks. most of them don't come with nuts or tuners, so you'd have to take them off the old neck and put them on the new. Also make sure you buy a jazz width neck. Calling and talking to one of these companies about this is probably your best bet. If all else fails, Take it to a pro.
