So I played yesterday night and the bass was just fine. This morning, I plug it up and to my surprise, the bass gives a fuzz sound on the E and A(though way worse on E). I tried hooking it up with different cables to different outputs (ie: to a zoom B1 with headphones) and even when I lower the bass completely and even the volume, the sound gets distorted heavily into a fuzz. Electronics?
I play a Jazz Bass Deluxe 24(4 strings). Would really appreciate your help.

Now where am I gonna find a 9v at this time of the night. Dammit.

And I tend to think that when there's a little something, it's the end of the world. I tried keeping my composure, staying as calm as possible and look what it got me, swift and efficient response. The new battery returned my bass it's original sound. Thanks, appreciate it . |

Payback takes about 2-3 years, but you won't get caught at 9pm looking for someplace to get new batteries, just put it in the charger. Newer ones can do a quick charge in less than an hour. I've been using them for over 5 years with no regrets.
Just FYI.

Maybe I need to find a different brand of rechargeable 9-volt.
oh, and glad to hear, that your bass just needed a new battery
was worried there for a moment, hahaha. |

was worried there for a moment, hahaha. | I used a couple of Radio Shack 9V rechargeables early on with no problems (I never noticed a difference in size), I've been using brand name like Ray-O-Vac and others for the last 3-4 years without problems.
My experience with dollar store non-rechargeable batteries was that they didn't seem to last as long and I had a couple dead out of the package. I admit that I do keep two regular Duracell 9V as backup in my kit, just in case. |

I had a problem with my amp where it would, from time to time, exchange solid tone for fuzzy distortion. Turned out to be a ground issue. A screw was missing that grounded part of the head. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
