Help!!! Bridge is cuttin my strings

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi guys

New user, playing for about seven years. Got myself a lovely Warwick Corvette 5 String standard about three years ago and never had any problems with it until recently.

At the bridge the saddles have worn and are cutting the strings and I dont know what to do. On the road alot and cant afford to buy new strings every week! Jus if I cud get some advice on what to do whether to try and sand the saddles down for a quick fix or jus to buy a new bridge altogether- if so cud someone suggest a decent mid range bridge maybe?

I can buy new saddles and that for it but I dont want to be in this same postition down the road again.

I tried looking for a similar post around but no joy so apologies if I missed it...

Assuming your bass has a typical two piece Warwick bridge with a stop bar behind the adjustable saddle section, you will probably have to get a bridge or parts from Warwick. Start here;

I would not recommend putting a non original after market bridge on a Warwick Corvette 5.

You could file the saddles with the appropriate file to smooth them back out. I would think that would work.
