Hey, everyone, need some help. Back in '93, I bought a Fender 60's Reissue Jazz bass (Made in Japan). Sunburst with a white pickguard. I took the pg off (white? really?), and played it au naturel for years.
These days, I'm playing more with a pick, and I want to dress it up, so I was planning on adding a B/W/B pickguard (the original is long gone, anyway). But I'm not sure *which* guard to get.
I've sent e-mails to the various pickguard retailers (Pickguard Heaven, Warmoth), but no response. I've tried the limited selection (*one!) at the local retailer (GC), but none are a match.
I don't want to go through the hassle of ordering a bunch of guards to try to find one that fits - and deal with returning, etc. Pickguard Heaven claims they make them to fit any guitar, but I haven't gotten a response to my e-mail in over a week, so I'm not convinced - and ordering a custom guard blind doesn't seem smart.
Any suggestions? Or any info on what guard will fit?
