Help with Ibanez GSR200FM

I just started learning bass so forgive me but I have no clue what's going on.

I've only had it about ten days and it seemed fine until today. For some reason whenever I play a regular note (finger just behind the fret) on one of the harmonic frets and let me finger off (and also muting the strings) the harmonic just rings out.

It's just sounding terrible all of a sudden and I don't understand why. Could it be the battery???

Anyways it's really bugging me so I thought I'd ask what might be going on. Thanks!

Oh and I get a buzz/hum when my fingers are just over the strings.
