So I got a Hipshot GB7 for a christmas present(so excited!), and my dad and I were trying to install it, but we can't figure out what we did wrong.. whenever we try to tune it, the string pulls the tuner forward, and the lever doesn't stop it, as shown in the picture. Did we install it wrong? What are we doing wrong? |

| | Registered User | | Join Date: Jul 2000 Location: Poplar Bluff, Missouri | | | the tuning machine part movement is what detunes the string, the lever and plate are not supposed to rotate, so when you flip the lever, it allows the tuning machine to move just to the point you set with the adjustment screw to be in tune for D or whatever your playing.

Looking at your pic, when detuning, the machine should move toward the next string tuner (left in the pic), so maybe you have the whole assembly mounted in the wrong clocked position?

HTH
