HELP!!!!! no sound

Sign in to disble this ad
I guess this would go under repair?

anyway. I just went to plug into my Marcus Miller Fender and I get no sound at all. I check some of my other basses thinking it's either the amp or the cable but no they work fine.

I just played it two days ago and it was fine. no cutting out or anything. anybody have any suggestions on a problem before i take it to GC?

If you do not hear anything audible (including hiss, humm, other irritating noise, etc), it is most likely the bad solder on the jack. They appearantly have no reason to fall off, but they do it anyway.

Other things to look at before ripping the thing apart:

1- Something could be grounded (shorted to a ground connection), closer to the jack.

2- The red wire comes from the battery snap could be disconnected.

These three concludes 80% of the problems.
