HELP please with bridge on Fender US P-bass

Hello: I recently bought a US P bass, around a 2000 model I think, The person who I bought it from put a badass II bridge on it but now I can't string thru the body which I would like to do. The badass III allows for that but is only 3 screws and this bass is a 5 set screw bridge. Any suggestions. Do I need to buy the original fender bridge that was on this bass, I looked at the Fender site but didn't see one that had 5 set screws and string thru. Is there an upgrade bridge that will work. Thanks for any suggestions. Steve

Without having any in front of me, IIRC my '95 and my former 2002 MIA P-basses had three screw bridges. The Badass III is the direct replacement for both of those.

Have you tried taking the Badass off and seeing if there are 5 screwholes from the original bridge under there. Also, want to sell me said Badass?

Yes I have taken the badass off and it looks like 5 original holes. Is it possible 2 more holes were drilled or would they not line up. Thanks.

They should not line up. The U.S. spacing is 25/32" (0.781"). The MIM is spacing 11/16" (0.6875"). The BAII is made to replace the original MIM bridge. My guess would be that your Bass has been drilled.
