HELP PLEASE! first active bass... i need to fix it.

can someone help me with active preamps?
mine does not seem to be working at all.. well a little.. if i turn the amp ALL the way up... i can hear only a little...
could anyone help me with fixing it? or ? anything? i know it's vague but.. it's a peavey dyna-bass from the early 90's late 80's i'm not sure i bought it used.

Did you put a new battery in it?

yea, but i'm not sure if it's new. hah. i took a few from school. i plan on getting some today though to try just that i hope that's the solution

Yeah, I would do that first. Also, be sure to check your cables for loose connections by plugging them into a circuit tester or by trying a different instrument through them.

If that doesn't work, then my next guess would be that the input on your bass may be loose and need to be tightened up. If you don't feel comfortable doing that yourself, then I'd suggest taking it to a pro.
