I recently acquired a used T-40 neck to put on my Fury body. It had been quite abused by the previous owner(s), but was straight and the truss rod works.
I had to sand off glued-on labels and note names scratched into the back of the neck! Of course by the time I get the neck smooth I am through the finish.
What is the fastest and easiest way to put some finish on the back of the neck? A few coats of poly sanded smooth, oil finish or ?? I don't care about the appearance, just that it is properly sealed and comfortable to play.
Thanks, experts.

The coats are thin and easily applied by hand. You can buff to a shine or leave smooth satin. You can even add a little amber dye for a very cool vintage color. http://www.lmii.com/carttwo/truoil.htm |

There is a video of someone using it and it looks perfect.
If this one turns out well (and why shouldn't it) I will re-do the neck on my '67 Hagstrom. I still cannot believe that I was so careless with it over the years to let it get so dinged up.
Thanks again.
