Help repairing a chip

Here's the deal:
My bass had too big chips, quite shallow, so i tried to fix them with nail polish. The color was good, but the texture is like wrinkled, is there any way to fix that?

Wet sand until the wrinkles lay flat, then buff the finish back out to a shine that matches the rest of the finish.

Not if you buff it. Sanding is how they got the finish flat at the factory They just buff it out after the finish is perfectly flat.
