Help! The screws on my knobs are stuck!

Sign in to disble this ad
The screws on the knobs of my Warwick are impossible to loosen. I'd like to shield my bass, but I can't do that with the pots still in there. I'm using cheap Dollar Store flathead screwdrivers, could this be the culprit?

Does anyone have any ideas on how to loosen screws that don't seem to be movable?

try some WD-40 or Liquid Wrench and if you have a soldering iron you can use it to heat the screw a little

Thanks, should I try a different screwdriver or can I stick with the cheap dollar store ones?

As long as the screwdriver doesn't twist(and stay twisted) it should be OK. But as suggested, put a tiny drop of liquid wrench, wd40, 3 in 1 oil, or best of all, PB blaster, into the hole and let soak a few hours. Then try again.
If the screwdriver is really crappy, Home Depot or Loews has better ones.
