Question Help with Tuner Machine Installation

So, I bought these (http://www.guitarpartsresource.com/i...2-1472-000.jpg) for my Warmoth neck. Any suggestions on how to drill the headstock for the two index pins on the tuners? Thanks in advance!

There may be better ways, but what has worked for me:

Install tunes, tighten nut just enough for the pins to indent wood.

Tape correct size bit so that slightly more than the length of the pin is exposed.

Drill carefully.

Practicing on a board could be useful.

Put the neck face down on a soft surface, then put the tuners in the holes.

Line them up, then mark the holes with a pencil.

Take the correct size drill bit and mark it with masking tape for the correct depth. Hold it next to the screw and make sure it's not going to drill any deeper.

Carefully drill the holes you marked, install, and enjoy!

Oh, I'm a dope...

I would do what was said above. Gently press them into the wood to mark where the holes need to be.

Then what I said with the drill bit
