I also posted this in the VM Jag thread under basses.
ok....just went through my check and balances on my new VM Jag. Tightening bolts and setting intonation and such.
i found that i can turn and turn and turn the screws connecting the bridge with the body and they never tighten all the way. All of them. I am guessing this is not normal.
Anyone have any input on this?

Not good.
You will need to get that fixed, or eventually the bridge will work itself loose.

Anyone have any input on this? | Remove the bridge. Get some wooden matches. Remove the head of each match to be used. Gently tap a match into each screw hole, until it bottoms out. Snip the protruding match flush with the face of the bass. Try mounting the bridge. Add matches as needed.
(Use same trick for loose door-hinge screws, et al) |

Heck - propellers and engines fall off aircraft too - but if you want to fix it, like I told you on the other post, you can use toothpicks (matches are kinda soft wood) and a little Elmer's and do one screw at a time.
Since you prolly bought the extended warranty from your retailer just exercise that option and get another bass. If not - Squier has a 1-year warranty for things like this too. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
