Hex key size for Lakland saddle hieght?

Sign in to disble this ad
I lost the allen keys I had in my kit for adjusting my basses, and I don't know what size is needed for the US Lakland bridge saddle height adjustment.

Any one know off hand?

Danke!

John

You can get a set for pretty cheap - then it's just trial and error

Thanks!

I got it. It's SAE, not metric, and it's a 1/16" size.

I didn't want yet another kit of hex keys. I have a small box I keep in the case that has the two hex keys I need for Laklands (truss rod and saddle heigth), and a small screwdriver for intonation and access to the control cavity for battery replacement. We still have one local REAL hardware store (not a "home improvment" monstrosity that's following Wal-Mart down the "it's all the same and no one here knows anything" business model. So, I can buy ONE allen key if I want to.

THe key stripped or the screw stipped? Those little screws are really prone to damage if you're not careful.

Make sure you have the correct size, not one that's just close
Make sure the hex key sits cleanly inside the channel
Make sure the screw isn't stripped already, clogged with dirt, and that it can turn freely
Make sure you get the allen key in straight, or use the ball-head ones.

The key stripped, both ends, didn't even last long enough to put put a knob that had fallen off back on. Was a 1.5 mm because 1/16" is too big for my Ibanez's bridge.
