Hey,erm, ugh, help?

Hey, see about a month ago, my neck was really flat, and had a ) bow(horrible 1st-5th fret buzz).

So I took out my allen wrench, and started turning it, and some more, until the 7th-12th frets buzzed, and I was like hmm, thats weird, il'l turn it some more until it goes(i was an idiot), so I turned, and turned, but I never saw any improvement, maybe a bit, but then I relized the horror, my neck had a terrible ( bow .

I know about how much relief there should be , but I always thought that I was doing the right thing, until i took measurements with a ruler, instead of feeling it.

So then I read that the more loose the truss rod is, the more buzz there is on the frets above the 12th fret, and that the neck should be almost flat with some relief and bowed forward slightly.

So I took out my allen wrench and started tightning it, it got better, but there is still a ( bow, so I wanted to turn it again, but uh-oh, it wont turn, it wont go any further...

Soo, basically, how do I solve this problem ^_^?

now I dont know why, but I have this feeling that im gonna get flamed, so please dont , I'm a bit paranoid lol...

It sounds like the first time you fooled around with it, you loosened the truss rod. When you tightened it after realizing your mistake, you ran out of adjustment room and now the truss rod nut bottoms out. Search around this forum and find the threads on this. It's been covered a few times lately. Basically it involves adding a few small washers under the nut to give you a bit more adjustment room.

Find out how to do it before you attempt it.

Read up on this before you go willy-nilly adjusting the trussrod. In general, you set up the relief you want on the neck with the trussrod and then adjust string height/intonation at the bridge. You do NOT simply remove fretbuzz with the trussrod adjustments only.

That's right.

Of course, it's your bass and you can do whatever you want to it.
