High/low fret issue ?

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a question to ask some of you guys that may know a little more than i do about high/low frets. I got an ABG today and i'm really loving it. The only issue with the bass is a buzz on the 14th fret Gstring. The buzz is isolated to only that fret on the g string. So i thought i would try to see if you guys could give me some suggestions on how i might go about correcting the problem. Any help is greatly appreciated.

you should take a straightedge and see if the fret is high or low in that spot.

if it's low you're looking at a complete fret leveling.

if it's high you can do some spot leveling.

Thanks... once i determine that the 15th is a little high... what is the best tool for me to use on a single fret? A small bastard file... maybe with some 320 wrapped around it?
