High spot on ebonol fretboard

Calling all ebonol wizards!

I've got a few high spots on a lined fretless ebonol neck, and I'm curious if there are any recommendations as to how to eliminate them?

I've searched the 'net, but haven't found anything relating to sanding, polishing, or even working with the stuff.

All comments and suggestions appreciated.

Thank you!
