Highway one jazz bass pickup cover

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey, i just bought original fender jazz bass pickup cover for my highway, but i have a problem - strings touches pickup cover when slapping. On finger style only e string is touching the cover.
Space between strings and cover is very small. Is it supposed to have that small space? Or i need to bend cover? Or i just bought wrong cover?

Post a pic. The strings should never touch the cover, unless you have a bowed neck and the highest action of all time.

ok, i bended cover a bit, and it's pretty high right now, but i still have one problem - when i slap my G string, it touches to the cover. Do i need to lower my g string?

cover now is attached with screws so if i bend it screws don't fit into holes

You're slapping way too hard if you're hitting the cover. And if the G string hits the cover, you need to pluck a lot lighter. You'll get the same sound out of a little pluck and a huge pluck IME.
