Hipshot 1/2" tapered-post long-stemmed cloverleaf Ultralites!

The key shafts on my SQ-series bent under the tension of GHS Pressurewound Medium, and the headstock could use a change of mass to see if that will cure a semi-dead spot (D on the G string).

Happily, Hipshot makes a long-stemmed cloverleaf key shaft (the short ones just wouldn't look right) and they also make great tapered posts (they're tapered to force the windings down the post toward the headstock) for the Ultralite tuners.

Yeah, the backs of the tuners look different with a dramatically smaller footprint than the stockers, and the tapered posts look different from the side, but they look totally classic from the audience view, and the engineering and workmanship is SO much better.

Waiting by the mailbox. Yea for Bill at Hipshot!

Very cool. I already have tapered-post Ultralites on my wenge J neck. I'll have to ask Bill if he can send me some lollipop longstem keyshafts for that.
