Hipshot 'B' Bridge Help!
This is a Carvin LB76F that I picked up recently.
It came with a set of GraphTech Piezo saddles that I'm trying to install.
As you can see from the picture below the string spacing seems to have gone astray. The saddles are 'grouped' in twos, leaving a large gap. (waiting on the high C in the mail, thats why you dont see it)
Did I set up the saddles wrong? Are they the wrong saddles all together?? Also, This bridge is a little messed up. I'm considering saving the piezo project for another bass. Will a Hipshot 'A' style bridge work as a replacement or will that not match the original string spacing?
The Graph Tech Ghost saddles don't match the string spacing of that particular Hipshot B. The 6 string version can be ordered in 4 spacings (.640, .669, .708 and .750). You need to get one that matches the spacing for the Graph Techs or saddles that fit the bridge base. Just from eyeballing the pic, looks like you have the .603" Graph Techs on a .708 or .750 Hipshot base plate.
Edit: You do have the saddles oriented correctly.
I have no idea whether an A style will fit. Best thing to do would be to contact Hipshot with some measurements of your saddles and ask. They have great customer service.
