Hipshot bass machine heads?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm thinking about getting fresh hardware for my bass and I'm wondering exactly which Hipshot tuners I need. The holes on my neck are 17mm but I can only seem to find tuners that are 1/2 in. or 18mm. Should this be close enough or is the another size available? The bass is a Fender American Deluxe Jazz FMT V but the new neck I'm toying with buying is a Warmoth Deluxe 5. Also, it looks like all the tuners are oriented in one direction so they would only be "right side up" on inline headstocks and for 4+1 and other two side headstocks you would have to flip them over. I don't have that much of a problem with it but I would prefer symmetry so having one tuner for the opposite side of the headstock would be nice. Would I have to contact hipshot or can I buy them elsewhere?

Yay, did you divide by zero too?

If you do a 4+1, just make sure you get 1 (R) tuner and 4 (L).

Sperzels are the ones that you can get 1 type and just modify it, if necessary. But there could be another...........
