Question Hipshot Bridge Replacement?

Sign in to disble this ad
I just got my first six string bass, it's a Washburn MB-6. I love it and it's fun to play but the action is killing me. The action is set to as what it seems to be as far is the saddles will let it, but it's oddly high for having the saddles down that low. Because of this I was thinking of dealing with it for a bit and buying a new bridge? But when I went to the site (hipshots site), the string spacing confused me. I don't know how to tell if it would fit on this bass or not. I'm not sure if the bridge is the problem, maybe somebody can help out?

-Thanks,
Thor

Shim the neck, assuming it's a bolt on

I just use a piece of a business card (.5 in thick) at the bridge side of the neck pocket. Seems like a little shimming goes a long way. Saved my Musicman Stingray!
