Hipshot d tuner on 75 jazz - does it look out of place?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm thinking of buying a hipshot xtender for my 75 jazz re-issue.

The only problem i have is that they make the string post out of aluminium which is duller to the shinny stock fender machinehead - so worried it'll look out of place and odd...

also i think the shape of the string post is a little different...

Has anyone put these on their basses and does it look ok? Is there anyway of getting the fender stamped hipshot versions.

I love the look of my bass and don't want to do anything to take away from its classic look!!

I don't have a Fender but I have a D-Tuner on my Cirrus - it's the GB7 model. The tuner matches the rest but the post is about a half inch shorter than the others. Can't tell really, unless you look for it.

In any case if you frequently need to go between drop D and standard tuning like I do the D-Tuner is a must have.

The only person in the universe who will look at it or care is you. Don't worry about it.

On a stage, no one will notice.

It's aluminum, but it's chrome plated, so it looks pretty much the same as a Fender one.
