I have one on one of my Laklands.

It allows me me to have my standard E and two preset notes of my choice.

I can drop the E down to D and if I want to I can the drop it lower. Or Higher in any direction if I choose.

It's pretty much like any other Hipshot D-tuner as far as accuracy and quality goes.

I'm a Hipshot Endorser.

Ordering mine, I'll chime in and give a good "gig" report.
Been waiting for something like this.
Maybe on most gigs I can just take a single 4 now. Sometimes I like not using my 5 or 6 and just playing a 4.
I tune down/flip the D-Tuner all the time.

Wish the transpose on my V-Bass sounded better. I wouldn't need anything else.

It's just the lever, not the complete tuner.

That explains it. And you don't just add this to your original tuner, you have to add this to an Xtender....

Anybody know if they are compatible with the Ultralites?

IIRC, they are all still the same design whether it be the ul or not.....

That's good. The little screw on the first stop kind of makes me question the design, though. It looks like it would scrape the plate and wear down.

I think this is really cool, but I don't know if I would really have use for two presets.
I just use E and D.
Perhaps I would tune the open string higher and drop tune to E and D.

I don't see why not?
Aren't the levers the same on all Detuners?

Hmmmm. Can't wait to hear Michael Manring with this. He's already doing multiples per string with the Xtenders and that bridge on his Zon, but this has got to add even more madness.

I've only ever purchased and used the Ultralite tuners, so I don't know for certain.

+++

I want one, but can't really think of what I would use it for.

I think, at some point, his strings would just become to floppy to warrant this, unless he's using the hipshot dual-levers for half-step drops.

That's exactly what I thought.

Michael Manring with double stop detuners on each string!

If you have access to a hardware store and a good tap-and-die set, you can do this same mod for waaaaaaaay less than the advertised $35

How much of a pain is it to set one of these up initially, in terms of setting up the fine tuning? Once it's set up, is it basically just tuning the same string 3 times or is it more complicated than that?
