hipshot and felt mute?

so i was thinking about getting a hipshot. can that work if i have a felt mute by the bridge (carol kaye style)?

Well first off, Hipshot makes many different bridges. Which one were you interested in?

oh wow, so apparently i'm not talking about a hipshot at all - it's actually a steinberger. the one with the detuning lever.
