LOVE HipShot products.

The D-Tuners are rock solid.
I have them on my 4 strings. My PRS has the D-Tuner with the Double Stop lever on it.
I have it tuned to drop to low D and in the second position to low B ().

Check out my YouTube vid on the Double Stop lever (and my PRS)

I have a GB7 on my Spector 4, and a BT7 on my Fender - must haves for modern country on a 4 string. Always solid on the tuning and work just like they should

Also use hipshot bridges and tuners - great company

I was thinking of getting one for my Ibanez SR600WNF. Should I also change my nut? I know that sounds a little funny?

I have been using them since the late 80's, mainly the gb7 versions, but others as well. They are 100% reliable. They never need adjustment, unless you change brands/gauge of strings. It's a fantastic product.

Not really necessary to change your nut but you must put some graphite on it or some nut sauce to lube it up..

In the twenty-plus years I have been using it, I have never found that the least bit necessary. Just install the gear and go.

How does the drop in tuning effect action? IE if in standard tuning it's low and comfy, will it get clanky and buzzy dropped?

I want one for my mod-platform Ibanez GSR200
