Got a Gotoh style Bass Extender Key, but the string post is way too short!
Is there anything that can be done?
Is it possible to dissasemeble it and the original tuner and add that string post to the Hipshot?
Update - Hipshot took care of me!

What kind of bass is it? Hipshot Customer Service is very helpful, and if you give them the details on your bass, they'll be able to tell you exactly which detuner you need. From there, hopefully you can return & exchange the key for the proper one (find that receipt! ).
Good luck!

The bass I planned on attaching it to had Grover tuners, but I tried it on four basses(Traben, Cort, Tanglewood, Richwood), all the same. Gonna check with both StewMac and Hipshot.

What kind of bass is this key going on?

Because if this is the xtender you ordered (below), then it should be a straight drop-in, with no problems with post length...
Yeah, I guess StewMac & Hipshot are your best bet. Sorry - figured I'd take a shot at helping you with this. Good luck!

I had an extender that was missing 1/2 the parts, and for $10 they fixed it up and reassembled it with new parts. This has got to be some of the best customer service that I've ever dealt with!
peace

Post was MUCH smaller than the other tuners. I ended up using it on another bass, but have thought about seeing if I could special order another one with the correct post length. I've heard people say that Hipshot is helpful with custom orders. |

I've considered doing this with my Yammy RBX4-A2. The stock tuners have a satin finish which there is no hipshot product similar to, and because of the '3D' headstock the GB7 post does come up a little short. It's not too short and is usable, but I would like more post length.

If I could find out how to remove the gotoh style stringposts, Id use the one on the stock tuner, but I dot know if this is even possible, should be though, they have to be assembled somehow!

Gotta say their Customer Service is the best I've come accross.
And of courese the Extender is fantastic, works like a charm, my main axe is now twice as versatile!
I just couldn't be happier!
